Summary
2015 has been the last year of the PCI Pneumonia in CIBERES. The evaluation has been good, remaining with good performance. A new Pneumonia PCI has been written, which will be effective in January 2106.
Many PhD students have advanced stage of the project. Indeed, two lectures were done in December. The project of Dr. Riera in Lung >transplant represents a step forward in the publication of scientific papers. It is expected that dr. Riera will apply as PI for a new FISS project in 2016. The INCOMED programme has funded a Post-doct Investigator, as part of the EU co-funding, for a project on rhinovirus in adults. Several students and foreign fellows have been incorporated to the group for stages 3-6 month, giving International visibility.
By first time, we leaded a module of critically ill in the Translational Master of VHIR, with participation of many members and collaboration of other groups.
The ICASIS in April 2015 closed a cycle. It is planned to organize an International ICASIS in 2017, open the market to Middle East. We have been sponsored by ESCMID to organize a PG course on septic shock in Istanbul in September 2016. Moreover, an educational/research project, funded in Australia is being prepared “CRE reduct” focusing on stewardship of antibiotics. A collaboration with the Cocharen Foundation will launch a Metanalyses and GRADe for Evidences in nebulisation in MV patients.
The PLUTO NETWORK has been closed, after 5 years, after enrolling all patients with Lung Trasplant in Spain in 2013. The multivariate analyses is closed and a manuscript should be prepared over the 1Q of 2016, Finally, the report of H-index indicates that the first investigator is between the Top Three in Spain (number 1 in Critical Care). This is a result of Team working.
I would acknowledge all the members and contributors, who worked in very difficult circumstances to guaranty excellence in Research
